1218 Quadrocopters Intel Synchronized Dance at the Opening of the Olympics In Pyeongchang

On February 9, the opening ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in South Korea took place. One of the most memorable parts of the show was the dance of hundreds of luminous quadrocopters in the sky.

The show of quadrocopters was organized by Intel, which has been working for several years on technologies for creating and managing a drones swarm. Intel engineers can simultaneously launch 1218 Shooting Star Mini quadrocopters into the air and make them dance synchronously. Drones formed in the sky a giant silhouette of a snowboarder, and then lined up in the symbol of the Olympics - a figure of five rings.

This show set a new world record for the number of drones, simultaneously raised in the sky. It is reported that the record will go to the Guinness Book of Records. During the last record set in Germany in 2016, Intel managed to raise 500 drones in the air.
